Q1: Hi. I have a Meade DS80AT (80mm aperture and 900mm focal length) and I want to buy a wide angle eyepiece. I was thinking either this one (Meade Super Wide QX 20mm) or the Zhumell 1.25in. 20mm Super Wide Angle Eyepiece ($54.99). Besides the price, is there
A: If what you're seeking is the widest field of view possible, choose the Meade Super Wide QX. Its field is 5 degrees wider than the Zhumell's 65 degrees. The eyepiece and filter kit comes with a Barlow lens and a 40mm eyepiece, so you'll have the 20mm slot well covered. It's probably not worth buying a separate 20-25mm eyepiece.
Q2: Hi Does the series 4000 15mm qx fit the etx 105? Other than wide angle and eye relief is the view better than a regular 15mm super plossl?
A: Thgey are both Plossl eyepieces literally the difference is just that the QX wide angle has a wider field of view. As long as it is a 1.25" eyepiece it will fit the 105ETX without a problem.
