Vixen VC200L Catadioptric Telescope with SXW Sphinx Mount

Item# VIX071

While Supplies Last

The VC 200L is an 8" f/9.0 highly corrected, highly specialized telescope for astro imaging. With its elaborate aspherical primary mirror, convex secondary mirror and a triplet corrector lens, this optical tube provides high-definition star images to the edge of the wide viewing field. It offers outstanding performance for astrophotographers.

Astro Imaging
The VC200L is designed for Astro Imaging. Even at the edge of the 35mm film format (larger CCD chips) stars are sharp ( smaller than 15 micrometers) This is smaller than the resolution of fine quality CCD cameras, which means that the telescope does not limit the image quality. With the recommended f/6.4 reducer you get much shorter exposure times.

The basic configuration already contains a piggy-back camera holder. You can then take photos both through the telescope and using a telephoto lens parallel to the main instrument or you can use the VC200L for guiding while the camera sits on top.

It is now possible to explore the beauty of the night sky with greater ease and stability. The SPHINX equatorial mount and STARBOOK controller have been intelligently engineered for high-speed automatic location of celestial objects.

The SPHINX comes standard with built in motors and the world's first star chart go-to controller, STARBOOK, with a large full color LCD display. The Sphinx’s design is exceptional and the exterior styling is equally attractive. The STARBOOK features a display on the large color screen and are navigated with simple buttons on the controller. The STARBOOK is easy to use and makes the SPHINX available to a wide range of ages and experience levels. The STARBOOK incorporates a large astronomical database with 22,725 celestial objects. A LAN Port within the controller allows for computer control and network connectivity.
