Q1: Does this spotting scope have a range finder as well. Because I was on a flight and I saw that it had a range finder as well. I am asking because I am in the marine corps, and my unite might be thinking about buying a few.
A: I am sorry but this does not have an internal range finder.
Q2: Does this come with a carring case?
A: it comes with a remote shutter, carrying case, tabletop tripod, and aluminum storage case.
Q3: would this be a good product to watch rowing competitions? The boats start 2000 meters from the finish line so we want to be able to see them coming and as they go by us.
A: having a magnification of 15-45 times the naked eye will be very good for zooming in on the boat as it is far away and then as it gets closer all you have to do is simply turn the eyepiece to lessen the magnification, or vice versa.
Q4: By digital does it mean it will accept a digital camera?
A: It means that it already has a digital imager attached so you do not need to attach a camera as it can already take pictures.
Q5: how does the digital image get to a computer on the USB cable or the memory card?
A: If your computer has a USB port, it will recognize the spotter and card as a separate "drive" in Windows XP. You can just access the files with photo-editing software as though they were on your hard drive or a floppy disk.
